São Filipe[]
The São Filipe is an Emerian destroyer that was created to detect incoming or cloaked enemy vessels. Originally, the ship (class) was simply a chopped up Praetorian Vendetta battleship, retrofitted to carry more detection equipment and essentially become a miniature San Lorenzo. But when times changed and the Emerians were forced to enter the AN-TA War on the side of the Third Alliance, they needed to modernize their ships. One such result from this need for modern ships was the new São Filipe.
Characteristics[]
Contrary to most Emerian vessels, the São Filipe was designed to detect enemy vessels, rather then possessing the firepower to obliterate enemy ships. While alike in many ways to most other Emerian ships, the São Filipe has a hangar built into it to allow it's fighter aircraft to do the fighting for it, while it dodges and gets shots of its own into an enemy vessel.
As is custom with Emerian ships, Slipspace Sails are found at the front of the São Filipe, on either side of the bow, just behind the keel.
Weaponry and Defenses[]
Unlike most Emerian ships, the São Filipe doesn't have much in the way of weaponry (the ship isn't completely covered in gun). The São Filipe does wield a small assortment of standard of Emerian ship weaponry, though dishing out massive amounts of damage (by itself) isn't it's intended purpose.
The São Filipe is heavily armored, with extra protection provided in the hull by the Bullshit Alloy ribs on each side. Nestled into easily defensible areas, shield generators and scanners, constantly protecting the ship and providing information to nearby friendly vessels.

When Emeria entered the AN-TA War, it needed new ships to match the combined fleets of the Third Alliance (and make their navy something to be admired). The São Filipe was commissioned to detect cloaked enemy ships, and to do that as effectively as possible. The first model was built by Vixen Inc. within a month, presented to the Emerian government, approved, and then entered
